Harvey-Marrero Post 222 was host to the Louisiana Honor Medal Presentation held on Friday, September 4, 2009. Governor Bobby Jindal presented 182 veterans of all wars their medals during ceremonies held at Post 222. Post Commander Melton Gaspard opened the program, followed by the Honor Guard, Military Band, Louisiana State Veteran Affairs Officials, Guest speakers, and then the Governor's Medal Presentation.
