Newellton Post 174 Participates In Schools' Honoring Of Veterans
From Bill Stroud, Commander - Davidson Perry Post 174, Newellton, LA The American Legion was represented this week at schools in the 5th District when Commander Bill Stroud of Newellton Post 174 participated in programs honoring our nation's veterans for Veteran's Day 2007.
Commander Bill Stroud joined the students at ST. JOSEPH ELEMENTARY on November 8, 2007 to participate in their "What Is A Veteran?" program.
The program at NEWELLTON ELEMENTARY gets better every year says Bill Stroud. The entire program is set up to "Thank The Veterans" for their service to our Country. Each grade of students performed a program to honor the veterans, "Past and Present".
MR. JAMES CARTER, JR., a Korean War Veteran was honored during the Veteran's Day festivities. MR. CARTER is now 80 years of age and still going strong. We salute him and give him our heartfelt thanks for his service to our nation.
