| 6th District Oratorical Contest |
On January 25th, 2009 the 6th District held their Oratorical contest at Nicholson Post 38 in Baton Rouge to determine a winner to represent them at the Department Contest to be held at Post 77 in Rayne on February 15th, 2009.
District Oratorical Chairman, District 6 Commander H.T. “Terry” Sharp coordinated the event with a great deal of help from 6th District Adjutant Vince Misuraca and a wonderful panel of judges from east Baton Rouge Parish that were called together by Commander Markland of Post 38.
The competition was very close with some outstanding orations delivered by the contestants, but the eventual winner was Steven Joseph Johnson a 12th grade home-schooled student from Ponchatoula.
Congratulations Steven for an outstanding effort!
