All Louisiana Veterans To Receive The Louisiana Honor Medal |
A program to manage the "Veterans Honor Medal" is underway. The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs is now in the process of presenting the Louisiana Honor Medal to Louisiana veterans. The Medal, which is distinctly Louisiana, will be given to Louisiana veterans based on their military records. The addition of a silver star will indicate wounded in action and the addition of a gold star will be awarded to next of kin of Armed Forces personnel killed in action. Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs is working to have medal award presentations held in each region of the state. According to LDVA, medals cannot be mailed to recepients.
