National American Legion Commander Clarence Hill Visits Louisiana On December 18-20, 2009 |
National Commander Clarence Hill and his Aide, Larry White, made a visit to the Department of Louisiana during the month of December. Arrival was on Friday, December 18, 2009, followed by a visit to the World War II Museum in New Orleans at the corner of Andrew Higgins Drive and Camp Street at 1:00 PM. At 6:30 PM that day the invitation was to dinner at Post 64, 2301 Belle Chase Highway, Mel Ott Park, in Gretna across the river from New Orleans. On Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 8:15 AM, breakfast was held for Commander Hill at Post 16 located at 2301 Hwy. 90 Bypass (2301 Ronald Regan Drive), Covington. Later that day at noon lunch was at Post 69, 1501 Surrey Street in Lafayette. At 3:00 PM he visited Lake Charles Post 1, 1530 Ninth Street. At 6:30 PM Commander Hill was received for dinner at Post 387, 500 Vernon Street in New Llano. At 8:30 PM the next stop was to visit Post 145 at 304 North Street, Leesville. On Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 7:00 AM, Post 387 hosted its famous breakfast for Commander Hill. At 10:00 AM a visit was made to the VA Medical Center, 2495 Shreveport Hwy., 71 North, Pineville LA. At 1:30 PM lunch was hosted by Post 14, 5315, S. Lakeshore Drive, in Shreveport and at 4:45 PM Commander Hill and Aide Larry White departed from the airport.
